Things to check before buying your Automotive Lift:
The lift should be installed on a level floor with a minimum of 4" - 6" of 3,000 psi concrete (sufficiently cured). If you are unsure of the thickness of the concrete, it is best to test drill where the lift is to be installed to verify the depth of the concrete.
You will need to review the specifications for the lift you intend to purchase and check the overall height dimensions given. Verify that the ceiling height in the installation area will be able to accomodate the height of your lift. It is best to ensure there are at least several extra inches of clearance available for installation.
It is important to take into consideration more than just the height of the lift when deciding if the installation space has enough vertical clearance. Consider how high you would like the lift to be off of the ground while working on vehicles, and make sure that if you take that measurement and add it to the overall height of the vehicles you will be working on when using this lift, this should give you an approximate measuremnt to use when determining if your intended installation area is high enough to work with the lift.
Review the specifications for the lift you intend to purchase and make sure that all electrical requirements are met. Most lifts operate using 220V, Single Phase on a 20 AMP breaker, but several models will require a standard 110V power supply.
It is important to only allow a certified electrician to wire the electrical connections for your lift. Incorrect wiring can possibly damage your lift's Power Unit and void your warranty. If you have any questions about the requirements for your lift, contact us to speak with a Pro-Series Equipment representative.
Several models of Pro-Series lifts require an air compressor in order for the lift to function properly. Make sure to review the specifications and requirements for the lift you intend to purchase and make sure you will be able to meet the air requirements for the equipment.
It is also the responsibility of the customer to unload the equipment from the truck when it is delivered. Due to the size and weight of the equipment, a forklift or wrecker boom will be required!
If the customer is unsure if the truck will be able to unload the shipment on their drive, and they do not have access to a commercial dock, it is strongly recommended that the equipment be delivered to a trucking terminal in the customer's area. The terminal staff will be able to unload the equipment from the trailer and load it onto a truck or trailer at no additional cost.
